Lionel Messi, Son Heung-min, Roberto Firmino, and Matthijs de Ligt have all been nominated for the Champions League Player of the Week.

The Argentine helped his side to beat Manchester United 3-0, 4-0 on aggregate as he grabbed a brace in the return leg of Champions League quarter-final. The Catalans will take on Premier League side Liverpool in the semis of the tournament.

The South Korean once again proved to be a key player for Tottenham, sending Spurs to the next stage with a brace as Manchester City waved goodbye to the tournament on away goals despite a 4-3 win on Wednesday night.

Matthijs de Ligt

Going against all the odds, Ajax managed to eliminate Cristiano Ronaldo’s side Juventus. The Eredivisie club stunned Juventus 2-1 at home on Tuesday night booking a semi-final date with Spurs. De Ligt scored the winner at Allianz Stadium sending Ajax through to the semis.

A comfortable win for the Reds on Wednesday night as they thrashed Porto FC 6-2 on aggregate. Jurgen Klopp opted to hand Divock Origi a start while resting Firmino. However, the Brazilian came in in the second half and scored Liverpool’s third goal as the Reds smashed Porto 4-1.
